The Challenge

Real-time data provision

AIDA faced the challenge of providing real-time data from various booking systems in order to meet the ever-increasing demands of the online booking market. The existing interfaces of the TTG (Travel Technology Group) proved unsuitable for operating an effective online booking platform, both in terms of functionality and response speed. This led to frustration among AIDA's customers and missed booking opportunities due to outdated or inaccurate information. This fact, combined with growing competition, made it essential to find a solution in the form of a modern Internet Booking Engine (IBE) that would enable fast and reliable delivery of booking data.

The Solution

Development of an IBE

To overcome this challenge, a middleware solution was developed that enabled the seamless integration of various booking systems. This middleware captured real-time data from various sources such as data warehouse extracts, reports, and TTG interfaces. By utilizing modern technologies such as Java, the Spring Framework, and Ehcache, a robust and scalable platform was created that enabled the rapid processing of large amounts of data. The constant updating of prices and availability ensured that the information on AIDA's booking platforms was always up to date. This solution made it possible to provide a reliable and flexible internet booking engine that met the growing demands of the online travel market.

The Result

Automated booking management

By implementing this solution, AIDA was able to ensure a fail-safe system for bookings via its website and other platforms. The flexible connection of booking sources and applications via APIs enabled the seamless integration of various AIDA booking platforms, including EXPInet booking mask, EXPInet travel search, aida.de, and the Sales Partner API. Automated data exchange significantly reduced manual effort and enabled efficient management of booking processes using the new Internet Booking Engine.
