GECKO has successfully developed and clinically demonstrated software solutions that are based on a special ultrasound-based real-time locating system (RTLS) of the Norwegian company Sonitor (www.sonitor.com).
This technology has been found to be well adaptable to clinical demands, especially when it comes to process orientation and process visualisation. Airborne sensor signals allow for highly accurate automatic determination of an objects position at the room level, even under difficult conditions.
GECKO’s solutions have been developed and tested in partnership with two German hospitals, University Hospital olf Rostock (kpai-uni-rostock.de) and the Hetzelstift Hospital at Neustadt / Weinstrasse (www.hetzelstift.de).

The diagram shows an event tracking solution that has been clinically deployed and demonstrated in a German central operating facility. Process states such as “patient being transferred” (i.e., to the operating facility), “locked in” (i.e., into the clean area), “start of anesthesia induction” are visualized directly at site of the facility.
